Frequently asked questions
What Houston customers ask before they call.
Pricing, scheduling, our process, brands we service, and how we handle property management contracts.
Service and availability
Do you offer same-day AC repair in Houston?
Yes. Calls placed before 2 PM in our service area generally receive a same-day diagnostic and, in most cases, same-day repair. After 2 PM we schedule a priority next-morning window or dispatch after-hours for emergencies.
What is your service area?
Houston, Katy, Cypress, Spring, The Woodlands, Humble, Conroe, Sugar Land, The Heights, Tomball, and surrounding Houston-area communities. If you are unsure, call us with your ZIP code.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
We offer after-hours and weekend emergency dispatch for system failures during extreme heat or cold. Emergency rates are disclosed up front before dispatch.
How quickly do you respond?
During business hours, most diagnostic calls receive a same-day window. Our office answers calls during business hours; voicemails and form submissions are responded to within one business hour during the week.
Do you serve apartment communities and HOAs?
Yes. HOA, apartment community, and property management HVAC is a core specialty. Recurring maintenance, make-ready turnover, and common-area systems with a single point of contact and consolidated invoicing.
Pricing and payment
How do you price a repair?
We diagnose first, then present a flat-rate quote covering parts and labor. The price you approve is the price you pay. No hourly creep, no surprise items at the end of the job.
How much does AC repair cost in Houston?
Most common Houston AC repairs fall between $150 and $600 (capacitors, contactors, drain lines). Mid-tier repairs (refrigerant leaks, electrical, blower motor) typically run $600 to $1,500. Major repairs (compressor, evaporator coil replacement) range $1,500 to $2,800 or more. See our repair cost guide for detail.
Do you charge a diagnostic fee?
Yes, there is a flat diagnostic fee that covers the technician visit and a full system check. The diagnostic fee is disclosed when you book and is credited toward the repair if you approve the work the same day.
Do you offer financing on installations?
Yes, financing options are available on full system installations through third-party lenders. We will quote a system without financing and let you decide whether to apply.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit cards, ACH transfer, and check. Invoices for commercial and property management customers are net 15 by default; net 30 available on volume contracts.
Do you charge peak summer surcharges?
We do not apply percentage surcharges to labor in peak summer. Our flat-rate pricing remains the same year-round. After-hours emergency dispatch is the only time a different rate applies, and it is disclosed before we send a technician.
Our process
What happens on a typical service call?
We confirm the appointment window in advance, the technician arrives in a marked vehicle, performs a full diagnostic, presents findings with photos when relevant, quotes a flat-rate repair, and only begins work after you approve.
Will the technician try to upsell me?
No. Our technicians are paid to fix problems, not to hit sales quotas. If a repair is the right answer, we recommend repair. If replacement is the right answer based on age, repair cost, and your usage, we explain why and present options.
Do you offer a workmanship warranty?
Yes. Our workmanship is warrantied for 90 days on standard repairs and 1 year on installations. Equipment carries the manufacturer warranty separately, which we register on your behalf at installation.
Maintenance plans
Why bother with a maintenance plan?
Houston AC systems run 2,200+ hours per year. Preventive tune-ups catch failing capacitors, low refrigerant, drain line clogs, and dirty coils before they trigger a 100-degree emergency. Plan members pay less for repairs and skip the wait during peak season.
What is included in a maintenance plan?
Two preventive visits per year (pre-summer and pre-winter), priority scheduling, discounted repair rates, no after-hours dispatch fees, and a maintenance log we keep for property managers and homeowners selling their property.
Can I cancel my maintenance plan?
Yes. Plans are month-to-month or annual. Annual plans can be canceled with a prorated refund of unused months.
Property managers and HOAs
How do you handle apartment make-readies?
We coordinate with your property manager or maintenance supervisor on the turnover schedule. Filter changes, drain line treatment, coil inspection, and refrigerant verification are batched across units when possible. Findings are documented per unit, invoiced consolidated.
Do you sign maintenance contracts with HOAs?
Yes. We provide annual common-area HVAC maintenance contracts to HOAs, with quarterly visits, response-time guarantees, and a single line-itemed invoice that is easy to present to the board.
Can you respond on after-hours emergencies for our properties?
Yes. Property management and HOA contracts include after-hours emergency dispatch with priority over walk-in calls and a pre-disclosed emergency rate.
